Kayleigh Whelan
Kayleigh is currently doing her apprenticeship at Motorcycle Pit Stop. She has an interest in motorcycle and currently rides a Honda CG 125.

She became interested in motorcycles when her father bought one and took her to bike racing. When anyone crashed Kayleigh imagined herself repairing them so they could go out again.

Kayleigh and her father then became friends with Keiran Blair who was racing at the time. Any problems that Keiran had with his bike his partner Anne looked into and fixed.

Seeing a woman repair race bikes inspired Kayleigh into action as she thought that although the bike industry is a male dominated workplace Kayleigh thought that if Anne could do it so could she.

Kayleigh secured her apprenticeship with Motorcycle Pit Stop and plans on being a great motorcycle mechanic. Check back here for updates.

John Draper
John is the newest recruit to our team even though relatively young John brings with him a wealth of experience having been involved with motorcycles for the past eight years. John left school having completed his GCSE's to take up a "Motorcycle Apprenticeship". John has also a passion for cars and currently drives and maintains a BMW convertible and can really turn his hand to any type of vehicles two wheeled or more.

John is also a trainee motorcycle instructor with Motag.

Ralph Loader
Ralph is one of the partners in Motorcycle Pit Stop and is the most experienced member of the team at a shade over 40. During his biking lifetime Ralph has owned all kinds of bikes ranging from sportsbikes to enduros and currently rides a Harley.

Ralph started his career at North London Motorcycles where he joined straight from school and stayed there through his apprenticeship until 1986 when he left to join the RAC as a patrolman. He then went on to work for factory superbike teams and worked with riders such as Steve Plater and Chris Walker.

Ralph has also run his own team racing in British Supersport and National Superstock with great results. Ralph met Doug (the other Partner) whilst out searching for a rider for his team and the two have been working together ever since.

Ralph is without doubt one of the best mechanics in the business and is very happy to talk about bikes, or any other subject for that matter, sharing his extensive knowledge with anyone who is willing to listen. So if he can help you please feel free to give him a call on 01462 671166 or better still, pop in for a coffee and a chat.

Doug How
Doug is one of the partners in Motorcycle Pit Stop and has been riding pretty much all his life. Despite his youthful appearance Doug is actually as old as the hills and carries with him a wealth of experience including managing race teams at British level and racing a bit himself.

Doug got into biking the way most people do, via his father who rode motorcycles as part of his job. Doug's first experience repairing motorcycles came when he bought his first bike. Since then he has always owned bikes and currently rides a Kawasaki ZX636 A1P and a BMW K100.

As well as being the friendly public face of Motorcycle Pit Stop Doug is also a top class mechanic, although he does not get his hands dirty very often. Doug is also a VOSA approved MOT tester and a qualified CBT instructor and can regularly be found conducting Compulsory Basic Training for Motag Scooter and Bike Training who are based at Motorcycle Pit Stop.

Doug Formed Motorcycle Pit Stop with Ralph as they both felt that there was a need in the local market for a specialist service centre that does not sell bikes and clothing. The partnership between the two sees them often acting like an old married couple (often very amusing).
Doug is now passing on his knowledge and experience by teaching and mentoring Kayleigh, a role that he has gladly taken on with all the enthusiasm we have come to expect from him.
